Wishing for Snowflakes - Freshly Made Sketches #47

Follow Me on Pinterest

The inspiration for today's post is the weather! It's been so hot here this week that I have been having some wishful thoughts about Christmas weather! Hello there! Thanks for stopping by to check out my project for Freshly Made Sketches:  Edited to add that I was selected as one of the "perfect princesses" by Allisa from Freshly Made Sketches for this challenge!!

Can you blame me really? With so many wonderful products in the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog, I just can't wait to craft for Christmas!

I am very pleased with the sketch this week, this card came together in no time at all. I am particularly happy with the option to include whatever shape my heart desires, I just love options! I immediately chose to use the new Snow Flurry Bigz Die in silver glimmer paper. Nothing like a sparkly snowflake at Christmastime! (I wouldn't really know, I live in Southern California, but I can dream!)

I used the new Core'dinations cardstock in Cherry Cobbler, I love the subtle texture it has. A few snippits of Snow Festival DSP, cut into banners because lately it has been all about banners for me. Hmmm, it was a bit plain on the Whisper White cardstock so I ran another piece through my Big Shot with the Argyle Emobossing Folder to add a bit of interest to the background.

Lastly, a designer button in Cherry Cobbler and this Christmas Card is ready to drop in the mail! Okay...maybe I will wait for a few months...

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations CS; Snow Festival DSP

Tools: Big Shot, Argyle Embossing Folder, Snow Flurry Bigz Die,

Embellishments:  Designer Button in Cherry Cobbler

Gingerbread Man, Yes You Can!

Follow Me on Pinterest

I am celebrating the release of Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog with a Christmas card! Christmas somehow always sneaks up on me so I'm going to get a jump start this year :)

This catalog is full of WONDERFUL new items celebrating the latter half of the year from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas to the Fall and Winter seasons, and  even into Valentine's Day (which is a year-round holiday in my book!). Please click here to browse through it and if you send me an email with your information, I will be happy to send you a catalog!

This little guy just makes me think of crisp winter nights and hot cocoa. And he was soooo easy to create with the Scentsational Season Bundle available in the holiday catalog. This bundle comes with a set of six winter themed stamps and matching Framelits Dies to easily cut them out! Truly easy peasy! The beautiful pattern paper behind the gingerbread man is from the new Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. This paper comes in a new format for Stampin' Up! The paper pad has 48 4.5 x 6.5 sheets of double sided paper in it, with four each of twelve designs. I'm very happy with this format as I feel it will give you many options for making those Christmas cards and gifts, but many of the patterns could easily be used for non-Christmas themed projects as well. Take a look at them and I really think you will agree!

The greeting on this card is from a stamp set called Seasonal Sayings, available in the holiday catalog as well. It has options for six different seasonal sayings. I do believe this stamp set will be featured on quite a few future projects!

I wanted to try to get a close up of the glimmer accent behind the gingerbread man. This accent was created using our Silver Glimmer Paper. I can't get over how it sparkles and catches the light...it definitely adds that 'wow' factor to any project! Very low maintenance as well. I simply cut a piece of glimmer paper off my sheet, placed one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits on top and ran it through the Big Shot, so simple!

I hope you have enjoyed this sneek peek at Christmas and I have many more seasonal projects to share with you! Please 'like' me on Facebook so you don't miss any of them!

A special shout out to Amy Fink for being the inspration for this card...

Thinking Outside the Card

Follow Me on Pinterest

I thought it would be nice to have gift bag to go with my Mother's Day card so I found this cute "Box in a Bag" tutorial here and recreated it in my own colors. I am pleased with how it came out but think it would be even better if I had run the scallop punch along the top edge before I assembled the bag. Oh well, next time! Thanks for stopping by!

I wanted to give the ladies a color choice so I created them in two different color combinations...I can't decide which ones I like best! Thanks for stopping by!

Tomorrow will be my first post on my regular Wednesday feature, His and Hers! I will show you two examples with the same layout and stamp set, one masculine and one feminine. Be sure to check back!
