Hello, Lovely Notecard Set

I received this stamp set free when I attended Convention last summer and sadly, have neglected it all this time. So I pulled it out, determined to make a set of note cards with it!

I only used four colors; Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Old Olive, and added a few sentiments from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.

The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig makes lining this stamp up easy! A quick sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set and rhinestones add just the right touch!

Another stamp from the Helly, Lovely stamp set in a different configuration, again a sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, more rhinestones, and a layer of Silver Glimmer Paper for lots of sparkle!

Cute little arrows reinforce the sentiment and rhinestones make it pop!

And of course, the ampersand! To achieve this look, I simply stamped the first image and then stamped again without re-inking. I started from one side, used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and hoped for the best. I think they lined up well! For the rhinestones I channeled Ann Schach...I definitely used more that I usually do!

There you go! Simple and fun. And the best part is...four of these cards and their envelopes all fit very nicely inside one of Stampin' Up!'s clear envelopes. Perfect size for a teacher or hostess gift!

Clean and Simple Saturday - Sweetly Framed

Good morning friends and happy Saturday to you! Today I have a fun little card to share with you...

This card was inspired by a store bought card (I know, gasp, right?) that my husband gave to me. I always liked it and pulled it out recently and thought "I bet I could make something similar"...

I know I have used the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper in not one, but two, posts this week...but I am really loving the soft prettiness of the designs!

I used my Squares Collection Framelits to make my frame and filled it in with leaves die cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die. I used the die to die cut the stems of leaves in two colors, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi. Then I placed the one stem of leaves, cut in Pear Pizzazz, into the frame and carefully glued leaves cut from the other stem of leaves in Wild Wasbi right on top of the first set of leaves! I also carefully spliced an extra stem of leaves in Wild Wasabi in, just to fill it in a bit.

And that's it! Add a simple sentiment, this one is from the stamp set A Dozen Thoughts and is an absolute favorite of mine...I just L-O-V-E all the fonts in this set!

Here is a sneak peek of a little project I have been working on...

Please check back on Tuesday for my post or to sign up to have my blog posts delivered to your inbox so you don't forget...I am so excited to share it with you!

Thanks and have a great day!

Big Birthday Wishes - The Paper Players #169

Happy Monday Stampers! Sorry to be so chipper about it...this is my short week at work so I am always happy about that!

Today's post was inspired by a Facebook posting of a delightful pillow...the colors really spoke to me and then I found a great sketch over at The Paper Players and away I went! lol

Aren't the colors in that pillow FANTASTIC?!? My Stampin' Up! mind immediately knew they were Smoky Slate, Real Red, Pool Party, and Midnight Muse...lol. I do that all the time, could that possibly be a sign of addiction?...nah...

Here's what these wonderful inspirations led me to create:

I kept true to my pillow inspiration in that the focus is the Whisper White and Smoky Slate with large pops of Real Red and little pops of Pool Party and Midnight Muse.

The Designer Papers used here are from several different lines...making this card a good example of how wonderful Stampin' Up!'s coordinating products are. I always know I can mix and match from across the entire product line and not worry that something won't match. Aren't those Candy Dots delish? The perfect accent!

This adorable sentiment can be found in the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, I have found this set to be very useful...the fonts are very much on trend and with such a variety of sentiments you are bound to find something that will work on your card!

Please let me know if this pillow and/or my card have inspired you to creat something!

Thanks for stopping by!

Best of Flowers - Freshly Made Sketches #108

Greetings! I'm back today with a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I thought the hydrangea from the Best of Flowers Stampin' Up! 25th Anniversary stamp set would work perfectly with this sketch and then built from there:

When using two colors on one stamp, I usually use Stampin' Markers to ink up the stamp but today I tried something a bit different. I stamped the image onto my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig stamp positioner, lined the image up onto my piece of Very Vanilla cardstock just where I wanted it, then I slide a 3x3 Post-It note under the stamp positioner and carefully covered up the stem and leaves of the flower. I removed the stamp positioner, stamped the flower in Pool Party ink, and reversed the process! I think the image stamped very cleanly!

The card base is NOT Old Olive cardstock, but rather is one of the papers from the Etcetera Designer Series Paper pack! I glanced right over it at first because there is a very large pattern on the paper but on second glance, I realized I could cut out around the pattern and have a nice crisp backdrop for the other delightful pattern paper in the same pack. And the colors were green and blue...perfect for a hydrangea!!

And isn't the font on this sentiment amazing? It just soooo girly!! Love it!

I used the new Envelope Punch Board to round all these corners...ez peasy :)

I didn't feel that the card needed much more so I used some simple Linen Thread and a double bow with a bitty button for jewelry.

I spent the weekend stamping away and look forward to sharing more projects with you! I'll be back on Wednesday with some halloween treats :)
