A Simple Note with Countless Sayings 1

This card started out life as a Clean and Simple Saturday card...but I got a little carried away :)

This one went a bit sideways on me, but I glad it did because I LOVE the way it turned out!

The stamp set I used here, Countless Sayings I, is a new photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up! I have to let you know that I am a huge fan of the photopolymer stamps. They cling well and make stamping straight very easy since you can see right through the stamp! I was so very pleased when Stampin' Up! announced recently that they will be manufacturing their photopolymer stamps at the Kanab facility...this sounds to me like they are here to stay and will have more offerings. Can't wait!!

I had so much fun making these cute little banners with the new punch that will be offered during Sale-a-bration! So easy to make a perfect banner, just punch, punch, punch! and you're done! I applied a line of Sticky Strip to the back of my cardstock, adhered my ribbon, and then added another layer of Sticky Strip and then just place my banners. Easy Peasy! Are you making your shopping list yet? All of the new Sale-a-bration products are fab-u-lous!

I discoverd that I do not own the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies (a situation I will have to remedy!). I tried the Small Heart Punch, but it was too small. Then I tried the Full Heart Punch, but it was too big. Stay with me here...

I poked around in my stash a bit and discovered that the Circle Card Thinlits Dies has a heart die that was just right! There are lots of accessories in this Thinlits Dies set, please give it a second look!

I embossed the "I" and the "You" in white and used coordinating cardstock for the hearts. They make me so happy!

A coordinating envelope and this card is ready to go! I hope you've enjoyed my project today and give the new photopolymer stamps a try :) Your comments keep me motivated...I would love to hear from you! Thanks and have a super day!

Language of Love - PPA 187 Color Challenge

These new Circle Card Thinlits Dies sure make it easy to whip up a fabulous card! And it's time to start thinking about how to celebrate those we love with colors inspired by the Pals Paper Arts Design Team. They keep the creativity flowing! This week they have a color challenge for us:

This wonderful color combination made creating this Valentine's Day card so fun!

EZ Peasy Design Tips:

  • Pre-cutting and attaching a 3" x 5 1/2" piece of designer series paper to your base layer prior to cutting it with the thinlit die makes the circle cut out inside a breeze
  • The 2 1/2" Circle Punch fits perfectly inside the circle on the base card
  • The scallop circle shape on the inside of the card is included in the Circle Card Thinlit Dies set and makes a perfect spot to leave a personal note
  • The large heart image here is from the Language of Love Stamp Set and is designed to be used with the Full Heart Punch - ez peasy
  • The small heart, cut here with Red Glimmer Paper, is also included in the Circle Card Thinlit Dies set
  • The zig-zag was easily created using the Bigz XL Tasteful Trim Die
  • The little banner is stamped with an image from the Love You to the Moon Stamp Set and provides not only a wonderful sentiment but also balances the card out
  • Isn't the lined envelope a wonderful touch? It add such a heft to the envelope that you just know there is something special inside! The Envelope Liners Framelits Dies are on sale this week!

Tags 4 You #4 - Valentine's Day

It's Thursday and time for the final card in my series featuring the Tags 4 You stamp set and so today we celebrate Valentine's Day! Yes, I know, we haven't even made it to Halloween but it's good to be prepared...right?

For my Valentine I wanted to tone it down just a tad so I chose to work with Soft Sky and small pops of Real Red and silver sparkle in the glimmer paper peeking out from behind the sentiment and in the 1/8" silver ribbon, available in the holiday catalog.

For being so small, the little red glimmer paper hearts sure pack a wow factor! And in case you are wondering, you will find the heart punch is part of the Owl Builder Punch.

So that's it! My clean and simple Valentine's Day card! I hope you have enjoyed this series and I thank you very much for coming on this journey with me. May you be inspired to create some wonderful cards for family and friends :)

Be My Valentine

Follow Me on Pinterest

Today's project is a CASE of a card I found online. I saved the image which wasn't watermarked so unfortunately I cannot give credit to the designer but I loved the card so much I just HAD to make my own with my own colors and papers!

I just love how all the papers coordinate! Hmmm...have I said that before? lol!

EZ Design Ideas

There aren't many elements to this design which is why it works so well. A few pieces punched with a square punch, sponging on the edges, and hearts punch out of glimmer paper for jewelry! One line scored with the Stampin' Trimmer and a well chosen sentiment and that's it! EZ Peasy!

Stampin Supplies:

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (127802)

Paper: Whisper White (100730), Real Red (102482) Cardstock; More Amore (129309) Specialty Designer Series Paper, Red Glimmer Paper (121790)

CAS Valentine - Winner of Freshly Made Sketches #67

Follow Me on Pinterest

Update: I'm so please to share with you that this card was selected as the winner of the FMS #67 Challenge! This is what Jennifer Timko had to say about it:

This lovely Valentine's card just captured my heart, so to speak.  First, the color scheme is fantastic.  Then, there are all the little details.  That pretty brad with a coordinating heart out of DSP, the embossed scallop and the rhinestones all create such fabulous texture.  This all adds up to the perfect Valentine for anyone on your list.  Congratulations, Shannon, on being the Queen of Clean!!

Please click here to see all of the wonderful cards submitted this week and many many thanks to Jennifer for choosing my entry!

This week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches is right up my alley - clean and simple! I just love Jennifer Timko's design style...thanks Jennifer! Here's her sketch:

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I had to break out the new product from the Spring Catalog! I'm not really a fru-fru girl so while I think the new More Amore Specialty Designer Paper is the bomb, all that pink is a bit overwhelming to me so...

EZ Design Ideas:

  • I used a neutral for my card base
  • I added texture to the card base by using textured cardstock (retired product unfortunately)
  • Addional texture was added by using the new Core-dinations Card Stock in Pool Party as well as one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folders and then only exposing some of the scallop.
  • Ribbon and a small pattern used sparingly provides additional interest while remaining almost neutral
  • All of these subtle layers ensure that the focal point steals the show and I have to say my heart is completely lost to the new Designer Builder Brads, (thanks Pam for sending me a sample) these things are AWESOME!! Just punch whatever your heart desires using the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, adhere it and add the epoxy bubble. That little bubble magnifies the image! AWESOME! (did I say that already?) And, coincidentally, the heart in this pattern paper just HAPPENS to fit very neatly...I love discovering all the ways that Stampin' Up! makes their products coordinate!

  • The sentiment is called Love Heart and was available as a single stamp - I'm really hoping it is included in the next catalog, it's super cute!
  • A small heart was created using the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits and textured cardstock in Primrose Petals
  • The Rhinestone Basic Jewels really add the "WOW" factor to this card and were a total accident! I intended to paper pierce the heart outline and forgot...what to do, what to do...I'm glad I forgot, I think the Rhinestones are the right amount of bling to balance the Designer Builder Brad and are a perfect final touch!

I'm very pleased with this one, I hope you have enjoyed it as well!
